Top 10 Interior Design Trends for 2025
As we step into 2025, the world of interior design continues to evolve, blending innovation with timeless elegance. Whether you're refreshing your home or embarking on a full-scale renovation, staying ahead of the trends can ensure your space feels fresh, luxurious, and reflective of modern sensibilities. Although we are more advocates of personal design styles over trends, there is no denying that just like fashion, some styles come in and out of vogue. We advise staying true to yourself and getting inspired by some of the latest directions!
Here are the top interior design styles that we believe will dominate in 2025.
1. Warm Neutrals with Bold Accents
While neutral tones like beige, taupe, and cream remain staples, 2025 will see these shades paired with bold, statement accents. Deep blues, forest and mint greens, and terracotta tones will be used sparingly to create balance and visual interest. Think muted walls with pops of color in furniture or art.
Are you wondering how you can incorporate this trend?
Use warm neutrals as your base palette for walls and flooring.
Add bold-hued statement pieces like velvet sofas, accent chairs, or ceramic vases.
We curated a collection of some of our top velvet sofas and accents to add a little flavor to your home.
2. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Design
Sustainability is no longer a trend but a necessity, and 2025 takes this ethos to the next level. From repurposed materials to energy-efficient appliances, eco-conscious choices are key in high-end design.
Discover the Key Features of This Trend:
Reclaimed wood for flooring or furniture.
Natural textiles like organic cotton, linen, and hemp.
Incorporation of greenery to blur the line between indoor and outdoor spaces.

3. Artisanal and Custom Pieces
Mass-produced decor is taking a back seat as homeowners seek bespoke pieces with unique stories. Handcrafted furniture, custom art installations, and one-of-a-kind textiles are at the forefront of luxury interiors. Did you know I designed a custom modern plaid made in collaboration with Holland and Sherry. It is called Muse of Mayfair and is made of 100% Wool as part of their Carnaby Collection. Check out our modern take on this classic pattern!
Examples:
Handwoven rugs or throws made by local artisans.
Custom-designed lighting fixtures that double as art pieces.
Statement headboards crafted from unconventional materials.
4. Multifunctional Spaces
The rise of remote work and multipurpose living continues to influence design. 2025 will see a focus on adaptable spaces that serve multiple functions without sacrificing style. Guest Rooms double as home offices and Home Offices double as Guest Rooms. Are there any other multi-functional spaces you would like to create? How about a walk in closet with an office? A gym that doubles as a playroom? A pantry that becomes a bar? When getting more function in less space it is all about layering it up!
Tips for Designing Multifunctional Spaces:
Incorporate modular furniture, like a sofa that transforms into a guest bed. Like our favorite Ceva Sleeper Sofa in a Performance Velvet fabric so the room looks lush when not doubling as a bed.
Use sliding glass partitions or room dividers to create flexible zones.
Add built-in storage to maximize functionality while maintaining a clean aesthetic.
5. Textured Walls and Ceilings
Smooth surfaces are giving way to texture-rich walls and ceilings, bringing depth and character to interiors. From Venetian plaster to bold wallpaper designs, tactile elements will make a big impact. We are absolutely obsessing over the dynamic yet subtle details that Elsa Jeandedieu Studio has created for luxurty retails spaces to private residences around the globe.
Popular Materials: to consider when adding texture to your walls and ceilings
Limewash paint for a soft, organic look.
Textured wallpapers featuring abstract or geometric patterns.
Wood paneling or beams to add architectural interest.
6. Smart Home Integration
High-tech design is seamlessly blending with luxury interiors in 2025. Smart home features not only make life easier but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of a space.
Tech Upgrades to Consider:
Hidden smart lighting systems that adjust color temperature throughout the day.
Voice-controlled window treatments for effortless privacy.
Integrated appliances that blend into cabinetry for a sleek, minimalist look.
7. Curves and Organic Shapes
Straight lines are taking a back seat as curves and organic forms dominate furniture and decor. From rounded sofas to archway-inspired architecture, soft shapes create a more inviting and luxurious atmosphere.
Incorporate This Trend:
Opt for curved furniture, like oval coffee tables or crescent-shaped sectionals.
Use circular rugs or round mirrors to complement angular spaces.
Design archways or curved doorways for architectural fluidity.
8. Moody Kitchens and Bathrooms
The all-white kitchen is being replaced with darker, moodier tones that exude sophistication. Similarly, bathrooms are seeing a shift towards dramatic palettes with rich colors and textures. Get ready to make it moody!! Bye, Bye, bland white, hello personality!
Design Ideas: to consider when making your kitchen and bathroom a little moodier!
Use dark marble or quartz countertops paired with matte black fixtures.
Add moody cabinetry in shades like navy, charcoal, or deep green or burgundy.
Layer lighting with under-cabinet LEDs and pendant fixtures for ambiance.
9. Statement Lighting
Lighting takes center stage in 2025, moving beyond functionality to become an artistic focal point.
Oversized fixtures, sculptural designs, and innovative materials will elevate any space. We are absolutely in love with this interwoven original blanket lamp by Kabo & Pydo - the form resembles woven fabric, but magnified to gigantic scale. The fabric’s “warp” is made of bent aluminium tubes, and the “weft” is made from thick, foam enhanced wool.
It’s oversized structure was chosen specifically to divide space optically and acoustically. Areas divided by the lamp are not closed off completely, space can be sensibly manipulated, giving more privacy where it’s needed. Both clever and functional!
Some Lighting Trends to Keep a Watch On:
Pendant lights made from hand-blown glass.
Oversized chandeliers with mixed materials like metal and fabric.
LED light strips integrated into furniture for a futuristic vibe.
10. Biophilic Design
Nature-inspired interiors remain at the forefront, with biophilic design encouraging connections to the natural world. From green walls to earthy color palettes, this trend promotes wellness and tranquility. We love adding the elements and engaging the senses. One way to do this is with a small water feature perhspa in a covered terrace or sun room.
Biophilic Design Elements:
Indoor plants in statement planters.
Water features like tabletop fountains or built-in wall waterfalls.
Natural light optimization with larger windows and skylights.
Interior design in 2025 is all about balancing innovation, your personality, and classic style.
From sustainable materials to bold colors and textures, these trends allow for personalization and expression in every space.
Whether you're embracing one or blending several, these ideas will keep your home ahead of the curve and allow you to have fun in the process!
