Citrus Schemes to put a little zest in your Interior all year round!
Long sunny days, warm nights, al fresco dining, there is so much about Summer that makes us want to squeeze all there is out of it!
Yes, I did just quote Don Henley.
These last licks of August make me want to treasure every second, but they also leave me with a light bittersweet feeling. I never feel like saying good-bye to summer.
The carefree and energetic spirit, the light heartedness, the gathering and reunions, there is so much to love about summer.
Come see how you can add a citrus blend to your interior to provide a little bit of sunshine when the weather turns, well, a little gray.
Below are some simple and creative ways to lose the winter blues and add some zest to your life and home!
Since re-locating to the Sunshine State I have embraced the power of color. All the bright hues and perfectly patterned Palm Beach interiors - itโs hard not to feel the light!
However, if you are located somewhere that is not summer all year round then you may want to consider small doses of zest.
Lemons, Limes, Oranges, and Grapefruit - they donโt just look good on your plate! See how these powerful punches of color can provide some cheer to your interior.
Add A Little Slice - A small dose of Citrus Accents
If you want a bright accent but arenโt ready to go full mango! I suggest a large piece of artwork - it complements a gray or neutral backdrop to provide some warmth without over powering your interior.
Alternative ways to bring in a burst of color and some summer boho vibes is with a fully upholstered accent piece of furniture or some bright cushions that can be added or removed along with the seasons if you like a little change throughout the year.

A Slice of Lemon
Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
Yellow produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity, and generates muscle energy. Yellow is often associated with food.
For a little burst of sunshine we love the Sunshine Calandiva.
Perhaps a whole house of bright colors is just a little too much. You can still add some brightness.
Art is always a good idea!
It can be moved around to add just the right amount of focus and warmth to whatever area in your home is in need of a little light.

A Little wedge of Lime
Go green! Lime green is a bright green color resembling that of the skin of the citrus fruit. Lime green is a color closely associated with nature, confidence, and high energy and is thought to promote feelings of liveliness, freshness, and creativity.
So itโs only natural to go straight to the source and add plenty of plants. Overflowing, organic and alive!
We know this outdoor shower is not ideal year round in most locales, however, that barefoot and carefree feeling can be! Load up on life with indoor plants.

A Splash of Orange
Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.
An accent wall, A Door, Upholstered Chairs, A Painted Entry - there are a variety of ways you can bring a little happiness and enthusiasm into your home!
A Grapefruit Blend
I am a big fan of Tertiary Colors. They are more subtle than Primary or Secondary colors. To me, they are a little more sophisticated and complex.
Tertiary colors are combinations of primary and secondary colours. There are six tertiary colors; red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and red-violet.
Grapefruit falls in the red-orange or yellow-orange spectrum.
Warm, dynamic, and invigorating, it blends the femininity of pink with the optimism and energy of orange.
